The U.S.-manufactured ActiveLED^® Classic Wellesley Acorn Retrofit is an innovative, self-contained LED light engine designed to easily replace the inefficient, high-wattage light bulb assembly in most existing King acorn-style fixtures, providing energy savings of 50-80 percent.

Municipalities, universities and colleges use Vintage style lamplights for roadways, sidewalks and public spaces in historical and residential neighborhoods. Typically, these lights have large acrylic or glass globes and cast aluminum bases that conceal 175-watt Metal Halide light bulbs and electronics that need frequent replacement.

The existing lamplight can be retrofitted with the low-wattage ActiveLED light and still have the same “old town” characteristics. The only noticeable difference in its outward appearance is a better quality of light, which helps to improve the safety value of its surroundings.
Ringdale’s patented LED technology also ensures a long life span of 90,000 hours (24/7 is 8,760 hours per year), lowering the bottom line when it comes to maintenance and operational costs.

The ActiveLED Classic Wellesley Light Retrofit meets many municipalities’ latest sustainability mandates for reducing energy usage. For applications where lower light levels would be appropriate during periods of inactivity, the retrofitted Wellesley lamplight can be configured with an optional digital dimmer and/or motion sensor.

The innovative design of the Wellesley Retrofit is fully dark sky compliant and delivers the maximum possible light to the surrounding public space while eliminating light trespass to adjacent properties.

ActiveLED^® Technology

Ringdale uses the latest in energy efficient LEDs and LED Modules producing equal or greater light output than current HID technology (Metal Halide and High Pressure Sodium). Our state-of-the-art electronics monitor current and temperature of the LED substrate to assure maximum performance under the prevailing environmental conditions and a Lumen Lifetime of 90,000 hours (90% Luminous Flux).

Removing Existing Wellesley Luminaire Bowl & Electronics Assembly

It is a very straightforward process to remove the existing Wellesley Luminaire "bowl" and electronics assembly in preparation for installing the ActiveLED Wellesley Retrofit , please refer to the following diagram for more details.

The existing electronics assembly will need to be disposed of safely and in accordance with local regulations.
