LightSpace® Digital / Rotary Dimmer for ActiveLED® Lighting Systems

  • LightSpace® Digital / Rotary Dimmer for ActiveLED® Lighting Systems:
    • low DC Voltage
    • very low power
    consumption
    • digital / rotary
    dimming control
    • from 0% (off) to 100%
    in 2% increments

  • 6-wire cable connection to an ActiveLED power supply using RJ-12 male connectors

  • Dims one or many ActiveLED lighting fixtures

  • Each Dimmer is powered by the single ActiveLED lighting fixture to which it is directly connected

  • Each interconnected LED power supply regenerates the dimmer signal to the next power supply in the chain, so that the number of LED lights that can be controlled from one ActiveLED dimmer is virtually limitless

  • Standard RJ-11 (4-wire) cabling to interconnect each ActiveLED lighting fixture to provide a network / occupancy zone of dimmable lights

  • Implement a manageable Occupancy Zone when combined with ActiveLED Occupancy / Motion Sensors (up to 10 per dimmer) to save even more energy

    EXAMPLE:
A 104 Watt ActiveLED fixture that is dimmed down to light level 40, when there is no motion sensed, consumes just 9.36 Watt (9% of 104 Watt), saving 94.64 Watt, 91%

  • Satisfies the dimming requirements of 2006 IECC

LightSpace® Digital / Rotary Dimmer for ActiveLED® Lighting Systems

Uses Smart Technology to precisely dim ActiveLED® C-Type Lighting equipment, from 0% (off) to 100% in 2% increments

ActiveLED® Light Fixtures are energy efficient, high performance for illuminating a broad set of applications, including indoor, offices, outdoor, trails, walkways, streets, parking lots, canopies and other pedestrian areas.

ActiveLED® light fixtures consume at least 50-85 percent less energy than conventional lighting and can be configured with a variety of options that provide additional energy savings.

With its patented design and superior LED elements, ActiveLED lights are a reliable light source with a 90,000-hour lumen life, making them a maintenance-free solution for applications where changing bulbs and ballasts can be hazardous, expensive or difficult.

LightSpace® Digital / Rotary Dimmer Application

The LightSpace Digital / Rotary Dimmer is designed to be connected to ActiveLED C-Series power supplies / fixtures and one Digital Dimmer can be used to dim one or many ActiveLED lighting fixtures, providing the ability to adjust light levels to suit user needs while saving even more energy.

Unlike conventional dimmers, the LightSpace Digital / Rotary Dimmer reduces the power consumption of the ActiveLED lights in proportion to the dimming percentage. For example, dimming down to light level 40 reduces the power consumption to just 9% and therefore energy costs.

The digital dimmer is connected to the dimmer input of one ActiveLED lighting fixture using a 6-wire cable terminated with 6-pin RJ-12 connectors.

A group of dimmable ActiveLED light fixtures (ActiveLED C-Series power supplies) can be interconnected using a 4-wire communication link that is terminated in an RJ-11 / RJ-12 connector.

ActiveLED® Occupancy Zone

The number of ActiveLED lighting fixtures that can be controlled from a single AcriveLED dimmer is virtually limitless. Each interconnected LED power supply repeats the digital dimming setting to the next connected power supply, thereby giving unlimited flexibility in managing a defined ActiveLED lighting Occupancy Zone.

Adding a motion/occupancy sensor to the configuration offers additional management capabilites, further reducing power consumption and therefore energy costs of the lighting fixtures within the occupancy zone.
Depending upon the size and shape of the defined space and the number of entry and exit points, one dimmer can be combined with up to 10 (ten) motion/occupancy sensors in designing the Occupancy Zone to provide the maximum energy savings.

The ActiveLED system architecture is unique in its efficiency, design and the way the ActiveLED Elements are driven. This chart accurately details the substantial energy savings that can be achieved when deploying a manageable ActiveLED lighting network.

Combining this architecture with a LightSpace™ Appliance, including the LightSpace Manager-IR, provides additional energy savings that are somewhat exponential to the reduced light level.

Example One:
An ActiveLED 104 Watt High Bay Strip with the brightness dimmed down to brightness level 50, then the total power consumption of that fixture is 16.64 Watt (16% of 104 Watt) at this brightness level of 50.

Example Two:
An ActiveLED 104 Watt High Bay Strip with the brightness dimmed down to brightness level 30, then the total power consumption of that fixture is a mere 5.2 Watt (5% of 104 Watt) at this brightness level of 30.

This same chart and percentages not only apply to any of our lighting fixtures with the external dimming controls, including the Rotary Digital Dimmer and the LightSpace Manager, but also to any pre-programmed ActiveLED fixture.

Although the light output of ActiveLED fixtures can be dimmed in 2% increments, the chart on the left accurately portrays the percentage power consumption for each incremental brightness setting of 10.
